The Poolside Girls

Meet Adrian, an aging, addicted drifter chasing stagnant dreams of rock stardom.

Traveling the backroads of America with his pregnant girlfriend, Dolores, in a beat-up Oldsmobile, Adrian prioritizes his love of opiates above all else - even selling his girlfriend in a backdoor bar trade for heroin one night.

After scoring some China White from the peg-legged thug Juarez, Adrian goes on a binge, scouring the latest fleabag motel for some entertainment and stumbles into the pool. There, a group of women, the Poolside Girls, tease and flirt with this junkie newcomer, offering him the party of a lifetime.

Though Dolores begs him to leave as she is about to deliver, Adrian is so enthralled with the Poolside Girls that he seems not to notice the bloody child Dolores offers him. Though the child is dead, and Dolores claims she will be, Adrian chooses to abandon them for the Poolside Girls.

Dolores begs him to come with her, not to leave her alone, but he refuses and she disappears from the scene. As the party continues, Adrian becomes intrigued with Brenda, and enters into a semi-coital relationship with her.

Soon after, Adrian begins to feel strangely, vomitting and convulsing, and realizes that he's had enough. He begs the Poolside Girls for help, who rush to his aide with silver trays of lined heroin.

Adrian continues to beg for help until he can no longer speak. As his body breaks down slowly, the Poolside Girls giggle and laugh, even taking it upon themselves to start up a friendly volleyball game as his physical control withers away.

Finally, he watches them play from the lounge chair until his eyesight diminishes and all he can do is hear them - unable to speak, move or see.

It is then that he realizes that he's been dead since he stumbled into this party - and now he's unable to do anything.

For all eternity.
