Reviled

30 years ago, a series of brutal and unexplained murders shook the small town of Reviled, TX. Countless investigators were called in, but none could decipher the pattern. Before dying, one arson victim provided police the only eyewitness description: a man, regular build, wearing a military uniform and a strange mask.

The crippling fear was too much for most townspeople to take, and within a year the once-prosperous community was nearly empty. Even after the killing stopped, those who stayed behind could not help but suspect each other. Nonetheless, an uneasy agreement was reached to never talk of the murders again, and hide the town's past with new name: New Prospect.

Time passed, and new families began to fill the long vacant houses. A hundred years of town history was buried under the tract housing and urban sprawl. Amidst the surreal haze of detached suburban living, few could recall, and even fewer would speak of, the murders. What these people didn't know--what they didn't want to know--is that one generation's nightmares can be another's inspiration.

As Homecoming approaches, a group of five seniors hatch a plan to awaken the town to its past, and punish everyone for forgetting it. Known to their classmates as pranksters, they decide now is the time to wield their powers with a purpose. Fear, they believe, is essential to understanding life, and those who live without it are destined to be a vacant shell of their true self.

Dressed in identical replications of the original killer's costume, they set out to write a ghost story that can't be ignored. First they cut the town's electricity, then split up to spook as many families as they can.

One senior, however, will not be satisfied by mere scares. Stalking through the pitch-black town in complete anonymity, his darkest fantasies become reality. But as the death toll mounts, the town Sheriff and his deputies receive word of costumed men being spotted around town. None are more familiar with the original murders than these three men, who set off into the night to destroy the legacy of Reviled, as only they truly can.
