Handsome, Brunette or dark Blonde, Blue eyes He is the guy High School can't live without but behind the mask is a man who can't live anymore. He has become a loner from the day his world was painted black. The tortured painter and writer was lied to in his face. He was told the love of his life was unfaithful. The irrational but compassionate young man did the unthinkable. Now a year has gone by, and not a day does he regret his unfortunate mistake. He tortures himself with images of a life a left behind. But is it all over for the couple who was seemingly perfect. Is it all over for this regal man who once was at the height of stardom but now slugs himself away in a treasure trove of drugs. He is the father, the patriarch, and the teller of the future. He is the rod in which the alliance is build upon. Without him, the world would be lost for he is the overseer and voice of reason. Stripped from the only one he loves, the handsome guy who once stood tall now sees sorrow and death as his gateway to happiness. Vanessa is the apple of his eye and only she can save him. She, the beautiful Spanish gypsy, is the Eve, therefore she is the mother of the world and together it is she who needs to crush their differences and fight with him. The torrid and dark lovers were broken by Kirsten, who would stop at nothing to cause pain on those who have gotten away from her. The greatest pain Ethan feels is the distrust and humiliation he forged upon the only one who saw his heart above all. Ethan would have to learn to set aside his anguish in order to save lives from an ultimate ruin. Ethan moved to California with his dad to remove himself from his estranged mother. He is an avid painter who is talented beyond his years. He draws from his experiences and what he sees is beauty through his girlfriend's smile. Ethan met Vanessa at the age of thirteen. He opened her eyes to a world far less superficial. But the only way to be closed to Vanessawas to change himself and become a mockery of who he was. As of a result of his once best friend, Kirsten's jealousy, Ethan broke up with Vanessa in order to protect her from Kirsten. Ethan falls in depression and drugs. His only ray of hope his moments with Vanessa.

Instructions

2-3 minute dramatic contemporary monologue Read though script Scene 15: Vanessa discovers Ethan doing drugs during lunch. A very sick and irrational Ethan fights with Vanessa. He is devastated. (Have some one read Vanessa's lines)
