The Last Job

Melvin Mallard is a useless New York City bum who at a young age began getting in trouble with the law. After getting kicked out of NYU, racking up many convictions, and losing many hands of "Hold 'em", he has lost everything while managing to still only be 24 years old. Now 28, Melvin decides it's time to turn things around. He heads to the unemployment line and tries to find a job, however, the only two available are some boring desk job at an office, or a an exciting adventurous job as a New York City taxi driver during the graveyard shift. Upon arriving for the first day of work at his newly acquired taxi driver job, Melvin, who always has a positive attitude even when he's down, gets to meet the crew that he'll be working with. His boss, Rico, an arrogant pompous communist, tells him that he has a job to do, a very specific job to do. For his very first job, Melvin is instructed to pick up a client at a dingy part of the lower east side and drive 'em out of the city towards upstate. However, that's easier said than done because little does Melvin know that his new 'client' is Johnny Wishes, the cities biggest crime boss, notorious for being absolutely ruthless. Johnny is catching a private jet out of New York City immediately within the next hour and it's Melvin's job to get him there. He'll have a tough time getting Mr. Wishes there, as the Feds, the italian enemies The Franchese Gang, The Israel Militant Mercenary Group, and the Russian Mafia are all out to get Johnny. Looks like this may very well be Melvin's last job.
