Allen Kaufman has always worn multiple creative hats throughout his career in the entertainment industry. From producer/arranger to performing musician to finishing as the engineer/mixer in the music industry - to his current passion as a writer/director-digital cinematographer who has not escaped the "studio life" as an editor and postproduction artist.
In the music production and recording industry, Allen's credits range from recording, editing, and mixing studio projects for Sesame Street LIVE! and Muppets Show on Tour (featuring original cast: Frank Oz and the late, great Jim Henson.) to a surround-sound mix for an exclusive presentation in IMAX Theater, Washington DC celebrating NASA's 30th Anniversary Commemorative. While the large arena shows of the Sesame Street LIVE! series were attended by thousands of American families as it toured across the country, the exclusive NASA 30th Anniversary Commemorative filled a single IMAX Theater by invitation only - attended by high-ranking govt officials, members of the Pentagon, NASA scientists, and American astronauts.
Other recording & mixing and music writing work includes projects for MCA Television, Universal Music, as well as corporate media clients such as TRW Aerospace, GTE/Verizon, and Southern California Edison (SCE).
There is also his original music writing, orchestrations, sound design, and scores - that have been heard on radio and television as well as on numerous albums and CDs.
Fast forward to the last 10 years where Mr. Kaufman's involvement in music production naturally evolved into creative work in video and digital motion pictures...
From designing, filming, and editing EPKs such as "The Making of Blonde and Blonder" with Pam Anderson and Denise Richards, to performance videos like "Laurence Juber Live at Alvas", to his current role directing music video and indie film projects, the same pattern has taken hold of Allen's motion picture career as did with his music & sound creation work.
Allen's visual creativity marries artistry with technical skill as a product of his full-time passion to see his vision through from concept development, to writing/directing to post-production finishing and delivery.
