Alejandro Mares
I was born in El Paso, Texas. My career began in Mexico City upon graduating from AMCI University with a degree in cinematography. I started as a production assistant, progressed to assistant director, and then reached director status, all the while developing an expertise in control and direction of diverse projects.
My passion for diversity motivated me to continue my education in NYU and graduated in top of my class.
After NY I returned to Mexico City to work for Filmmates and Toro Films, where i began directing various projects. My success in this area attracted clients like Rebook, Coca Cola, Office Max, and Government sponsored tourism campaigns. My work on music videos received several awards in different categories such as animation and graphics, while working for different artists like Reik and Miguel Islas.
Fueled by my innate desire to constantly learn and grow, I moved to Los Angeles. In order to fine-tune my craft and increase my knowledge as a director, I studied acting under Vincent Chase, who is acknowledge as one of the best acting coaches in LA.
I am now living in Miami, and being represented in the hispanic and general market by Letca Films as one of the Young Director's of the company. My debut in Letca Films in the USA was for State Farm's Los Felinos de la Noche' "El Gran Pais" music video.
