Ana Zins was born and raised in Houston, Texas, studied Filmmaking at the New York Film Academy, participated in the Women in Film Directing Mentorship Program in 2005, and has worked in production on several feature and television films.

Before pursuing a career in Directing, Ana had a brief stint working at New Line Cinema, and then at Regent Entertainment in development, production, and distribution on independent feature and television films.

She also volunteered for 3 years as a festival screener for the Los Angeles International Film Festival through IFP/FIND and the American Film Institute’s International Film Festival in their programming departments.

Ana just produced, co-wrote, directed, and edited her first SAG Ultra-Low-Budget Feature Film, a family friendly romantic/buddy comedy, HEAD OVER SPURS IN LOVE starring Daniel Bonjour, Leena Huff, and Jesse Johnson. Currently in post with a completion target date of 2010 for the festival circuit in 2010/11 for possible theatrical distribution.

Ana wrote, produced, directed, and edited, "Bubbles", a five minute children & family comedy short, had it's theatrical premiere at the Reel Women International Film Festival in 2007 and was an official selection in competition at the Los Angeles International Shorts Festival in 2007. It screened at the International Family Film Festival in Hollywood and was nominated for best mini-short at the Danville International Family Film Festival. And recently screened at the San Diego International Children’s Film Festival and the Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival in 2008, and the San Francisco Bay Area International Children’s Film Festival in 2009. With Bubbles, Ana was a top ten finalist in the Lifetime Movie Network: Every Woman’s Film Competition.

Ana wrote, produced and directed, "Getting Gretta", a teen romantic comedy short, also premiered at the Reel Women International Film Festival in 2006 and was an official selection of the Broad Humor International Film Festival in Venice, California in 2006.
