On Headshots

I have shot many commercial castings and have been appalled by the quality of the headshots that come in. Not only are they boring, they rarely seem to capture anything about the subject's personality. I'm always amazed at how many barely resemble the person they are meant to represent.

As a portrait photographer I don't do traditional headshots, I do portraits that not only work as headshots, they stand out from the pack and will get you more attention. Bio

I fell in love with photography while in high school and discovered my passion for portraiture while a photography major at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. I was accepted to the Eddie Adams Workshop the year I graduated and moved to New York City shortly afterwards. My assignments have taken me to the tarmac at JFK, the tents of Fashion Week, the dunes of the Thar Desert, and even the shores of Coney Island! I love the excitement and challenge each assignment brings, and have had the opportunity to work in many different areas of the industry where I straddle, and occasionally transcend, the worlds of fine art, commercial photography and photojournalism. NYC is my home but I love to travel and never miss a chance to discover a new place, near or far.
