Bio

Joe Rey was raised in Camden, New Jersey by his mother, who was an original American Bandstand-Dancer. He performed in his elementary school's seasonal plays, which sparked his passion for the energy of film production. Joe production designed and art directed numerous entertainment events, national broadcast commercials, and music videos for some of the top MTV artists, as well as providing art department support for feature films such as Mannequin 2, Rocky V, and Academy Award winning Age of Innocence, Philadelphia, and 12 Monkeys. After several years at Metropolis Studios, he started his own design firm called A.C.M.E. (Art department for Commercials, Music videos, Etc.) and eventually Co-Directed with some of the industry's top Music Video Directors. His then directed his first commercial, an anti-smoking PSA for Philip Morris USA. He has continued to direct, design and create for many commercial, music video, and film productions. After the attacks of September 11th, he established Popology.org as a non-profit for non-violence Media Company in California. He has membered with the Director's Guild of America and the Los Angeles Production Designers Local 829.
