I feel that all stories, be they cinematic or literary have the power to give some insight into the human condition. These are the stories that have shaped my life and have inspired me to write what i can only hope are meaningful pieces about real people. I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and have been influenced by both the sultriness and the anguish that hovers over the city’s broken streets. Seven years ago I moved to Manhattan where I earned an intern/mentor position with New York Women in Film in Television. I was then accepted to both Columbia University and the American Film Institute for directing. Certain that I wasn't through with New York, I enrolled at Columbia University, School of the Arts where I earned my MFA in February of this year.
This year I had the pleasure of completing my thesis film, The Price of Flowers which was shot on location in New Orleans with an almost entirely New Orleans native cast and crew. I also was lucky enough to work and fall in love with who I hope will be a life long partner and producer Christopher C. Brown.
Currently I am in pre-production on a short written by Rachael Holder, an NYU MFA playwriting alum, entitled Good Morning, Love. It will be shot in Brooklyn, NY this May, so I better get cracking.
I have been very fortunate in the work that I have been able to do, the projects I have been asked to be a part of and the artists with whom I have had the pleasure of collaborating. Things, needless to say have been wonderful and as is in my nature, I can only hope for more and more and more...
