Charito Mertz was born in Cebu, Philippines and became a world traveler before entering the first grade. Her father, Nolito Jarina was a Civil Engineer searching for a job in the most exotic of places, like Australia and Nauru before settling in America. Her mother, Marcela Jarina, found her niche in banking. Charito grew up singing and dancing hula, knowing that she wanted a career in the spotlight. At age 18 she moved to New York to pursue modeling, but it wasn't until she moved to Los Angeles where she found her true passion, acting.
