2009 Cinematography Reel
Born and raised in the Heartland (Ohio & Indiana), a child of the 80s. Came from a writing background, which eventually segued into visual mediums as means of expression. Attended the graduate film program at the Savannah College of Art & Design to cultivate my understanding of the process of making films. Fascinated by visual design and the language of cinema, began focusing on the camera and lens as my tool of choice, naturally leading to cinematography.
Currently residing in Brooklyn, working in a variety of creative circles, new and old.
On a side note, I have a deep affection for incredible coffee, and a marked disdain for both average and subpar coffee (the great majority). Aside from coffee, I'm pretty accepting of most things.
About Me (Film)
Inspired and compelled by the possibilities of the moving image. Focused intently on visual storytelling, considering the use of film language and visual conventions to move and tell a story rather than an over-reliance on dialogue to convey meaning.
Love the work of Terrence Malick, Wong Kar-Wai, David Gordon Green, and any others who reliably take the viewer into their world and way of seeing.
