Bio

In little over one year, Daniel Chesnut has quickly made his name in the music video industry. After one video in December 2007, Chesnut has become a much sought after music video director for hardcore bands on record labels across the country. He began filming and editing surf videos, for action sports company, Hurley International in 2007, and by the end of that same year had already directed a music video for hardcore band, Greeley Estates. Chesnut does not limit himself to one type of genre, and actually desires to become versatile in as many genre's as possible. Daniel's interest in videography and film began in high school film classes, and from mentors that encouraged his creativity to pursue film in his own personal activities. After graduating from high school in San Diego, Chesnut relocated to Orange County and attended film school at Vanguard University. After his first year he accepted an offer from Hurley, Inc. to work in the film department, which has skyrocketed his career in all the right directions. Chesnut's first music video was for Greeley Estates, a post-hardcore band on a Science Records. Chesnut wanted their video to be fast, high energy and chaotic. Based off a performance concept, Chesnut was able to capture the personalities and character of the band, and helped create a new image for the band. The video that put Chesnut's name on the map was the concept video for Norma Jean's "Robots 3, Humans 0", a video that Daniel visualized and put onto screen in an eye-catching way. Based off of the lyrics and input from the band, Chesnut depicted an uncomfortable, emotional video that reflected the dimensions of jealousy and aggression in relationships. Never settling for less, Daniel's motivation to succeed in everything he does stems from his yearn to find new inspiration for videos from pictures, art and culture. He strives to make every video better than the first, by learning new programs for post production and taking the time to test out new ideas. Never getting discouraged, but using his knowledge to better portray what he imagines.
