Schmüdde has developed a distinct cinematic style that is immediately recognizable in films such as the conscious-riddled short film "Refuge", the winding featurette "I am Concrete", and "Reflections", a vox populi exploration of Chicago. His creative endeavors span further still - he is an active musician and sound designer, a testament to the fact that visuals are only part of crafting a compelling film. This results in not only a presence on the American festival circuit, from the Georgetown Film Festival to River's Edge Film Festival, but also appearances as a musician in places such as the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art and the internationally-renown Seamus electro-acoustic music society.
