Daviel Shy
Daviel Shy graduated from Oberlin College with a B.A. in Studio Art after completing her thesis exhibition, Family Portrait. Her film installed in the exhibition, Abba, went on to win best film at the Oberlin Arts Festival. She has published numerous mini-comics both in stores and on the web, and is a retired worker bee of the largest comic store in the Midwest, Chicago Comics.
Her films straddle the line between narrative and experimental and preserve the haunting tone and deliberate pacing of her comics.
Daviel lives and works in Brooklyn, N.Y., where she makes drawings, films, performaces, and happenings.
