Dylan Goodwin graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Filmmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia the spring of 2009. In august of that year he moved to New York City and has been sharpening his skills as a grip and boom operator. Working closely with New York University Graduate Students, Dylan has had the privilege of experiencing many professional sets in a short period of time. He has worked with James Franco for the past year, and continues to do so, capturing location sound for 2 of his Graduate films; "Herbert White," which premiered at Sundance, and "The Clerk's Tale," which made it's way to Cannes Film Festival this year.
Dylan also studies acting and attained the lead role in "To The Stars," a film by School of Visual Arts Graduate Devin Lezama early 2010. In film school, Dylan lent himself to perform in his colleagues' short films, which lead him to take acting classes that ultimately got him parts in two plays his senior year, even though he was a Film major rather than a Theater Performance major.
Overall, Dylan loves production; the satisfaction of being on set, the energy, and the feeling of accomplishment. While he loves and continues to work on films behind the camera, he also looks forward to opportunities where he may express himself in front of it.
