"Directors have to be on set all the time, and one thing I've noticed as an actor in fifty-two pictures is that every time it starts to rain the producer goes back to the hotel and you all sit there and get soaked. And he also has more Monets and Picassos on his wall; and he always has a bigger house than everybody. In Hollywood anyway. I noticed that very early on, and I thought, that's what I want to be. I want to have all the paintings; I want to be back in the hotel when it's raining." - Michael Caine, explaining why he'd rather be a Producer than a Director
