Gabriel Texidor

Hey everyone, my name is Gabriel Texidor, I'm 20yo from Hartford, Connecticut, and right now I'm a junior at the Miami International University of Art & Design, majoring in Film & Digital Production.

I remember falling in love with the world of film when I was in the single digits. Writing came out of me naturally and I never stopped when I started. I loved creating my own worlds, my own characters, my own conflicts, and my own special moments. Growing up, I've picked up many inspirations and implemented them in my writing.

Since I've been in school, I've found a great interest in directing and editing. I've never given much thought to them, but now I can't think about anything else. So I hope I can fill up the rest of my bio with my career in writing/directing/editing.

Interests and Activities
i'm obsessed with movies (of course), music, fashion, history, reading, art/art galleries, and martial arts/combat.

When it comes to my writing, I love to play with identity. I love creating complex characters and twisting and turning who they are, or who they think they are, with their atmosphere and other characters. I'm a big fan venturing in the dark side of life. Plus I love to have fun with assassins, vampires, zombies, and creatures alike.

Favorite Movies
I love all types of movies and I have decent sized collection. My friends always tell me that I have some of the best movies and some of the worst movies. But I always find something in a movie that I like, whether it be a particular scene, a character, a lighting scheme, an edit chose, something.

Some of my favorite movies are Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Run Lola Run, The Color Purple, Perfume, Spanglish, Friends With Money, Casino, the Goodfellas, Cool Hand Luke, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Halloween, Dawn of the Dead (old & new), the list goes on.

Favorite Music
I love all types of music, I don't discriminate lol. But my main music is Latin Freestyle. It was an underground dance scene in the 80's that my mother passed on to me.

Some of my favorite musicians/bands are Jennifer Lopez, Covenant, Billie Holiday, Jill Scott, The Doors, Depeche Mode, ATB, Lady GaGa, Whitney Houstan, Celia Cruz, Tatu, Tupac, Mystic, Orgy, Cher, Don Omar, + more.

Favorite Books
Reading is a huge part of my life. Some of my favorites are Shiloh, In the Time of the Butterfly, Creep, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Color Purple, White Oleander, and Butterfly Boy.

Favorite Talent
My #1 Talent is Jennifer Lopez. I know she is constantly criticized for her work but I love her. I think she is super talented, so beautiful, and an amazing person. She does have highlights in her career that prove she is an A-list talent and has opened many doors for other talented hopefuls. But I do agree she really needs to go out for more challenging roles. She's a huge inspiration to me and I've already written a few roles for her lol.

I'm a huge fan of Marilyn Monroe. She truly is an icon.
Paul Newman is amazing to watch.
Who doesn't love Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton, Glen Close, and Judy Dench.
I love Anne Hathaway, Jake Gyllenhal, Dakota Fanning, Kate Blanchett, Roselyn Sanchez, Sophia Vegara, Michelle Yeoh, and Emily Blunt.

I'm not a big fan of TV. I don't really follow shows and have to catch the latest episode. I'm a re-run type of guy lol.
