Jim Garvey
Jim Garvey is a writer, director, producer and aspiring nomad. At the time you're reading this he may be living in Los Angeles, New York, or Tanzania. (Probably not Tanzania.)
In New York City he lives with his three roommates and his roommate Adam’s python, Monty. In Los Angeles he lives by himself.
Jim is an established writer and director of television, film, and the internet and is soon to be a published playwright.
"Teachers," the sitcom pilot Jim wrote and directed was awarded the first ever People’s Choice Award handed out outside of the January telecast, when it debuted at the 2008 NYTV Festival. Jim also collected a Silver Ace Award at the 2009 Las Vegas International Film Festival for “Teachers,” and is in the process of trying to sell this show among many other shows and film projects.
Jim has worked in television, film, and the internet in scripted, non-scripted, and branded content. He wrote compelling questions for the Drew Carey hosted “Power of 10″ on CBS, as well as compelling words for CBS’ “Million Dollar Password” with Regis Philbin. You might remember some of Jim’s greatest hits like “net,” “grill,” and “armadillo.” For the internets Jim has directed and produced projects for both Yahoo! and the Food Network. At Yahoo! he directed such cewebrities as Tom Green and Ask A Ninja dot com’s The Ninja. He also owns his own broadband production company that specializes in branded content for the web. Through his company he has produced content for brands like Barilla, Toyota, and SC Johnson.
Jim grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Brown University in Providence Rhode Island.
