Johnny Sánchez is a multi-hyphenate (an actor, writer and producer). As an actor, Johnny has worked with directors Frank Oz, Steven Soderbergh, John Badham, Herbert Ross, Max Mayer, Michael Bay, Arthur Hiller, Richard Benjamin, Danny Leiner, Hugh Wilson, etc… just to name a few.

As a producer, Johnny produced the highly critically acclaimed film ‘Find Me Guilty’ directed by Sydney Lumet (Five Time Academy Award Nominee) and starring Vin Diesel, Linus Roache, Ron Silver, Peter Dinklage and Annabella Sciorra.

Johnny also produced ‘Even Money’ directed by Mark Rydell (Academy Award Nominee) starring Kim Bassinger (Academy Award Winner), Forest Whitaker (Academy Award Winner), Danny DeVito, Ray Liotta and Kelsey Grammer.

As a writer, Johnny won Best Dramatic Short Screenplay Award for his politically based, Sci-Fi, short film ‘A Through M’ that played at over 20 film festivals worldwide and won other numerous awards, including Best Short Drama.

Johnny’s artistic pursuit is to convey the stories that continually shed light on the struggle and progress of the human experience. He is dedicated to create films that entertain and, at the same time, inspire the viewer to generate personal and social change. Being a multi-hyphenate allows Johnny the opportunity to create the stories he believes in whilst, simultaneously, being a fan and student of storytelling.

A graduate of Performing Arts High School (aka La Guardia H.S.) in NYC. After his graduation, Johnny moved to Los Angeles, California where he appeared in several films and TV productions, thus allowing him to expand his body of work and garner more experience.

After several years in Los Angeles, Johnny returned to New York to train intensively with acclaimed acting teacher William Esper. At the same time, he reconnected with his NYC peers and joined LAByrinth Theater Company. Johnny appeared on stage in several of LAByrinth’s productions including Paul Calderon’s ‘Divine Horsemen’, David Zaya’s ‘10-13’, Stephen-Adly Guirgis’s ‘Race, Religion and Politics’ and Erin Cressida Wilson’s ‘Trail of Her Inner Thigh’ directed by John Gould-Rubin. Johnny was a member of LAByrinth Theater Company for twelve years and still considers LAByrinth a family.

Eventually, Johnny took his first step into producing and developing films. His first film, as a Co-Producer, was ‘Find Me Guilty’ directed by Sidney Lumet and starring Vin Diesel, Linus Roache, Peter Dinklage, Annabella Sciorra, Alex Rocco and Ron Silver. Find Me Guilty, based on the true story of the longest mafia trial in US history where Jackie Dinorscio defended himself without a lawyer, was released nationwide in theaters to high critical acclaim. Find Me Guilty is currently available on DVD.

Next up for Johnny was ‘A through M’, a political short film that Johnny co-wrote and produced in collaboration with the American Film Institute’s Directing Workshop for Women (The AFI’s DWW). A through M was directed by Heidi Miami Marshall, played at over 20 film festivals worldwide and won many numerous awards, including Best Short Drama.

Johnny then returned to producing for the big screen with ‘Even Money’, directed by Mark Rydell (Academy Award Nominee) starring Kim Bassinger (Academy Award Winner), Forest Whitaker (Academy Award Winner), Danny DeVito, Ray Liotta and Kelsey Grammer. Even Money was released in theaters nationwide and is currently available on DVD.

In the meantime, Johnny has also kept busy as an actor and most recently co-starred in the short films ‘8 Ball’ directed by Inon Shampanier, ‘Out of Service’ directed by David Heiman and in ‘Sunday’ directed by Jo Henriquez.
