  Overview

• Bio

  I am a film maker from Kingsport, Tennessee. I graduated from the Digital Media program at East Tennessee State University and have only recently been so passionate about making films. I am also a writer, which is how I came to embrace film the way that I have. After you write something, the next step, in my eyes, is to make it visual. Film is an art form that I have a tremendous amount of respect for and I hope to be contributing to the industry in some form for the rest of my career.

• Interests and Activities

  Aside from writing and filming what I can, I am Vice President of Production for Elixir Media Group in Kingsport. There, I film and edit shows for the local government access channel. This has given me an incredible amount of experience with professional equipment and has given me an outlet to try a few other creative endeavors.

  Music is another passion of mine. I play guitar and am very heavy into ska music. I collect action figures from films and from stories written by some of my favorite writers and I like to read as often as time permits.

  I'm a very busy minded person in that I always feel like there's something I could be doing. I have a hard time sleeping at night often because I feel like there's got to be something I should be doing instead of sleeping.

• Favorite Movies

  I'm a very big fan of horror films. Some of my favorites are House of 1000 Corpses, Night of the Living Dead, the Evil Dead (1 & 2), Army of Darkness, Creepshow, Nosferatu, The Satanic Rights of Dracula, Spiderbaby, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the Friday the 13th series, Nightmare on Elm Street series and the Leprechaun series to name a few.

  I'm also into exploitation films, some of my favorites being a Clockwork Orange, Cannibal Hollocaust, Faster Pussycat Kill Kill Kill, and some of the modern attempts like the Machine Girl, Planet Terror and Shoot 'em Up.

  Some other films that I enjoy include the Wizard of Oz, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, Airheads, The Chronicals of Narnia, Tommy Boy, Wayne's World (1 & 2), The Toxic Avenger, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Shrek and Scarface.

• Favorite TV Shows

  I rarely ever watch TV, but I do enjoy watching Metalacolypse, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Taboo, Modern Marvels, Flight of the Conchords and, my favorite, Jeopardy!

• Favorite Books

  All time favorite book is "A Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Burgess. A few other favorites include "Have a Nice Day" by Mick Foley, "Here, There and Everywhere: My Life Recording the Music of the Beatles" by Geoffery Emerick and "Make Your Own Damn Movie" by Lloyd Kaufman. I'm constantly reading something so be on the lookout for possible updates to my list of favorites.

• Favorite Music

  I'm a big fan of ska music: 1st wave, new wave, 3rd wave...I don't really care, it's all awesome. Also big into punk rock (although not as much as I used to be), Metal and the variations included in the genre, particularly thrash and speed metal. I enjoy classic country music, the real stuff, none of the pop country crap that has infested the radio. I enjoy crooners, Frank Sinatra being my favorite and occasionally some hip hop and rap. I simply cannot get into classical, techno or pop country, no matter how hard I try it.
