  Overview

• Bio

  I began writing screenplays as a hobby, but ended up writing 15 spec scripts. I sold a feature script in 2005, which became the basis for the movie "Ring Around the Rosie" (aka "Fear Itself"), starring Tom Sizemore and Gina Phillips.

  My short script "The Like Girl" was produced in 2002, which I also directed. The finished film screened at the New York International Film and Video Festival in 2003 and stars Libby Winters, who New Yorkers may know from the band The Fabulous Entourage and the off-broadway show White Noise. Libby also recently starred as Sophie in the Las Vegas production of Mama Mia.

  I recently completed a commissioned urban drama feature script, titled "Armistice," about an ex-con father who, while reconnecting with his estranged son, also develops a unique solution to gang violence in South Central L.A. The project is tentatively scheduled to go before the cameras later this year. (Uptime Films, Peter Stevens, producer.)

  I've also recently completed a feature thriller script with director Brad Goodman ("Path of Evil," "Harvest of Fear"), which we hope to get into production in 2008 or early 2009.

• Interests and Activities

  Exploring the weird history of Los Angeles, movies, TV, hiking, swimming, camping, screenwriting, photography.

• Favorite Movies

  Recent flicks I've liked include: CLOVERFIELD, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, DISTURBIA, FREEDOM WRITERS, GRINDHOUSE, RIZE, NOTES ON A SCANDAL, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE. Older favs include SIDEWAYS, V FOR VENDETTA, LAST HOLIDAY, INSIDE MAN. Even older picks would be JAWS, FUNNY FARM, AIRPLANE, HAMMER HORROR FILMS and the NAKED GUN movies. (I just wish they would digitally replace O.J. Simpson with somebody else... anybody else.)

• Favorite TV Shows

  Reno 911, Ghost Hunters, Late Night With Conan O'Brien, The Simpsons, The Daily Show and Real Time with Bill Maher.

• Favorite Books

  I read mostly nonfiction, research for scripts.

• Favorite Music

  Eclectic tastes. My CD collection is just about equal parts contemporary pop/rock, movie soundtracks and jazz, with some classical thrown in for the heck of it.

  Ellen Page, Heath Ledger, Jodie Foster, Jake Gyllenhaal, Tracy Ullman, Ben Affleck, Cloris Leachman, Dennis Hopper, Sigourney Weaver, Harvey Keitel, many others.
