I love Film Noir and the French New Wave! I would love to work on a hard boiled detective film, or a criminal caper film. Something where the "good" guys aren't angels and the "bad" guys are the kind of people you can appreciate why they are the way they are. I do have that sensitive guy fondness for a good romantic comedy, but F*** a chick flick. If you are going to be sappy, atleast do it like Breakfast at Tiffany's or one of the other great romantic comedies. Give it the "Lubitsch touch," as seen in the truly great classics of yesteryear. I love genre films, but if you are going to do genre, you should understand the genre you are working in. I am mostly a fan of the classics and the stuff people like Kubrick and others came along with during the 60s and 70s, but I am a fan of most of Tarantino's work and a few of the other more creative writers and directors of today.
