Shawn Wines is a writer, director, producer and editor based in New York City. His 2009 film "A Christmas Carrot" won Best USA Short at the Jacksonville Film Festival, and screened at other festivals in Washington, D.C. and Seattle. His previous work as a writer, director and editor has screened at festivals around the country.

In 2009, he produced an independent feature film, "Done to Death," currently in post production. Prior to that, he was featured in the New York Times for a short film he directed, currently playing on the Crowne Plaza Hotel's billboard in Times Square.

Previously, he worked as an assistant editor on "3 Backyards," a feature film starring Edie Falco that premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, and served as apprentice editor on the feature documentary "Cocaine Cowboys," distributed in theaters and on DVD by Magnolia Pictures.

In Los Angeles, Shawn worked as a set production assistant on "Rush Hour 3" and "Get Smart," and held the position of unit production manager on "Squeegees," a ten-episode web series commissioned by Disney and broadcast on ABC.com in 2008.

Shawn has worked at "Late Night With Conan O'Brien," "As the World Turns," Plum TV and the commercial production company Hungry Man, all in New York. He authored a guidebook on student life at the University of Miami, which is sold in book stores and online by the College Prowler company. Before that, he wrote hundreds of film reviews for various South Florida outlets, interviewing actors and filmmakers ranging from Ray Liotta to Jerry Bruckheimer.

He was also the associate producer of an independent feature titled "4th and Forever," and has served as a producer, cinematographer and editor on dozens of short films, as well as writing and directing several of his own. Shawn is currently in his thesis years at Columbia University's graduate film division, pursuing an MFA in Film Directing. His upcoming projects include a comedy web series and a homemade action movie.
