About Me
Writer. Geek. Filmmaker. Gamer. I wear many hats.
I love media in all its forms: music, film, television, and the classic written word. When I'm not watching, listening, or reading I am probably writing or creating.
My mind is always working. I'm always working on a story, a character, a scene, an idea. I have to write, direct, create. I am compelled by a force I have never seen and do not understand. My muse is relentless, but she's good to me.
I'm an indy film maker from the Pittsburgh area. I've been creating in some form my entire life, though my first real taste was writing and directing a stage play at my alma mater the year after I graduated. A passion for screenplays soon followed and in 2004 I directed my first short film. I've written well over twenty screen and teleplays, and I'm now focusing on the craft of directing. I've completed three shorts and a Proof of Concept trailer for a more ambitious project that I'm trying to get off the ground for next year.
I enjoy writing horror/thriller films with a supernatural bent and complicated, flawed characters driving the story. I tend to be more cerebral, a bit more "Hitchcock" in my approach to this genre. I don't mind the gorey stuff, I just get bored to tears writing it.
I've dabbled in other genres, including sci-fi, comedy, and even a few "epic" historically-driven pieces. To that end, I have a big trilogy I'd love to get out there some day, that's been sitting on the shelf since before trilogies were hip, and the only real trilogy was Star Wars.
Professionally, I am extremely passionate about my work; I can't imagine doing anything else. I'm good at communicating what I want from my talent, and the atmosphere on my sets is focused, yet relaxed. It's not just about making a great film; it's about great people having a great experience.
