Overview

  • Bio

I'm an indy film maker from the Pittsburgh area. I've been creating in some form my entire life, though my first real taste was writing and directing a stage play at my alma mater the year after I graduated. A passion for screenplays soon followed and in 2004 I directed my first short film. I've written well over twenty screen and teleplays, and I'm now focusing on the craft of directing. My current project is to film a trailer for my feature script, "The Way of Seeming". I have two shorts on the horizon after that.

Most of my work falls into two categories: horror/suspense, or epic. My horror films tend to be more cerebral and classical, closer to Hitchcock or even Carpenter (not that I mind the gorey stuff; I love it, I just don't write it often). My stuff is usually character driven and as believable as one can make such stories. I also lean towards supernatural stories... although my first "slasher" will probably be in development soon.

The epic stuff is just that; usually some kind of big, paradigm-shifting, world-changing event but from the intimate perspectives of the characters who are in the midst of it. I have two big trilogies I'd love to get out there some day (and they've been sitting on the shelf since before trilogies were hip, and the only real trilogy was Star Wars).

Professionally, I am extremely passionate about my work; I can't imagine doing anything else. I'm good at communicating what I want from my talent, and the atmosphere on my sets is focused, yet relaxed. It's not just about making a great film; it's about great people having a great experience.
