Yusaku Mizoguchi was born in Tokyo, Japan.
He was destined to be a film director since he was getting excited inside his mom’s womb while she was watching ‘The God Father’ in the theater.
He grew up practicing martial arts such as Kendo, Judo and Karate until he finds out that there was no practical film school in Japan back then.
He came to the US to study filmmaking, after he finished the intensive film professional training program at NYU Tisch School of the Arts program, then he moved to Chicago and received B.A. in Film Directing from Columbia College Chicago.
He moved to Los Angeles to start directing his films. His films have been selected for numerous “Official Selection” and screened at many international film festivals, including Los Angeles International Short Films Festivals, Tehran International Urban Film Festivals, Indies Movie Festivals in Japan, Rhode Island Internatinal Horror Film Festivals, Shocker Fest Film Festivals and many others.
He has also worked as a Commercial Director, an editor, a fight choreographer and a director of photography in the US and Japan. As an editor, he has received 3 nominations from prestigious Golden Trailer Awards and Interactive Emmy Nomination.
He resides in Los Angeles and is currently in pre-production for several features and short films.
