A group of friends go to the abandoned state mental hospital to share tales of Scary Mary. Little do they know she's still roaming the halls.

  2. 10 Year

Hijinks ensue when a guy takes his best friend from college with him to his 10 year high school reunion. Old relationships are explored and old rivalries return

Mike begrudgingly attends his 10 year high school reunion at the behest of his best friend Travis. Travis didn't go to high school with Mike so of course he sees this as an opportunity to pick up women. After thinking it over Mike sees this as a way to get back together with his old high school girlfriend Maggie that he stood up at the prom senior year.

Travis assumes the role of Brad Hansen (a student who attended for half of senior year) and quickly becomes one of the most popular people at the reunion. He befriends a lot of the former jocks and sets out to see if he can hook up with some of the more desperate women.

Mike sets out to make amends with Maggie but quickly finds himself falling back into the regular high school role that he had left behind. He also finds himself in direct conflict with Jeremy, his old high school bully. After a mishap he finds out that old high school traditions still stand as he is challenged to a fight behind the school.

Travis tries to help Mike deal with all of this but doesn't want to blow his cover so he constantly taunts him when people are looking.

Just when things starting looking good for Mike in getting back together with Maggie he is tested when the former head cheerleader Tiffany expresses interest in him. He has to fight off his former tendencies and realize that old social statuses don't matter and he should go with his instinct.

We would visit many characters from the old school such as the guy who left and became somewhat famous, the nerd that got rich in computers, the guy that became a criminal, and a guy that had a sex change into a woman. Of course the sex change would be presented early and towards the end after Travis has struck out again and again he would wander off with him/her. Mike would almost be ready to warn him but let's him go as payback for all the torture he has endured from Travis the entire night.

In the end Mike is finally able to win over Maggie. Much of the comedy would be around Travis and his becoming super popular at the reunion and his quest to pick up anything that will give him attention.

Josh McKenzie I'm just gonna have to be brutally honest on this one and say... Nothing original about this AT ALL. Didn't even make me laugh... which I thought was the point of this COMEDY contest. Sorry.

Bryan Wolford HAHAHAHA. The guy wearing the jacket is only 32. So the graduation year isn't that far off.

Michelle Cutler Yes, reunions have been done. But once you go to one (which I just did) you realize how much high-school really affects your adult social behavior - sometimes overtly and sometimes subconsciously. I got the 16 Candles vibe from your idea - a movie I've watched a thousand times. I would say if you can get some John Hughes in your script, it could really hit home.

I like your intentions. Curious to know what you think of my project: http://www.massify.com/partnerships/lionsgate/makingcomedy/concept/entry/mrsdude

Andy McIlwraith Pacing and energy are good, but I'm having trouble with the scope of the story? Does the entire thing unfold at the reunion? And what's the deal with Mike? What does he WANT? What prevents him from getting what he wants? And finally, how does he go about getting it?

Don Saparina I think I might have made the fatal mistake of watching that video before reading the script, but either way it ruined it for me. I figured if you couldn't get decent actors for it, why do it? The video was optional, you know? As a writer I thought you should have focus on that and not the played-out version of a video pitch. Sorry, but I couldn't read the sample without it rehashing that mediocre acting in my mind. :(

Ervin Anderson I would probably only watch this if Crispin Glover and and Carrot Top starred in it, and it was directed by McG after he ate some 'shrooms. Otherwise, I don't feel much excitement after reading the screenplay. It's just kind of familiar and not great. And the video....yikes!

The Bad Luck Gal! You have no luck! Sorry!

J. Alex Boyd There's something I like about the absurdity of the Bad Luck Gal and her counterpart. From what I can see, they simply exist as a manifestation, holding no alliances or grudges. BLG will post one star simply because you exist.

Is it theatre of the absurd? Is it a commentary on the subjective and ultimately flawed method of amateurs commenting on these creative pieces? How most of us are competing against each other and therefore biased? Truly they bring up more questions and meaning then any other poster here.

Vince Johnson same thing most people said, but good luck.

Luke Steinberger I'm not too concerned with the fact that reunions have been done before; it's not as though stories need to be entirely original to succeed in Hollywood. What worries me is I can't quite figure out the tone of this movie. Your sample reel seems to suggest a sort of absurdist approach, which I think could be quite funny, particularly if you really went after all of the stereotypes. I think there's material in showing that the cliques of high school exist in the adult world as well. But your synopsis suggests that this will have a little more of a romantic comedy feel, with the main goal being Mike chasing after past loves. I'm not sure I could buy into seeing that type of movie.

The writing is very well-done.

I think your best idea involves Brian handling the hostage situation while stoned; that is a scenario that we haven't really seen before. I think you are trying to do too much with everything else that you've laid out here; this movie feels long, and I'm not sure anyone would really be invested in Brian as politician. I do think that there could be enough gags and missteps for there to potentially be something in the hostage set-up.
