Body of Work is my journey from the naked girl in front of the camera to the naked eye behind it.

Since I was seven, I have posed nude for controversial photographer Jock Sturges. Body of Work, an 85-minute feature-length documentary shot on MiniDV in color, and incorporating home movies, newsreel and video animations, is my intimate story of creating these controversial images.

The film opens where Jock takes pictures: a European Naturist community, where 20,000 people live in the nude every summer, and where my family vacations.

In 2005, my sister published a fictional novel about two sisters photographed nude, resulting in one sister’s murder. The book sparked tensions between Jock, my sister and I.

Back in the US, my collaboration with Jock is labeled pornographic, irresponsible and vain. I grapple with these accusations and my feelings about the work as I transition from subject to artist.
