Robert Haskins hasn't had a hit in years - not since the 1986 smash sitcom, "My Two Brothers". Desperate for a fresh angle, and fed up with the rage of reality TV, Haskins realizes that "if you can't beat them, join them."

After witnessing a group of illegal immigrants protesting labor laws outside his home, he realizes that there is an untapped resource or drama, romance, action and struggle for immigrants who enter or want to enter the United States.

He pitches "Finding America" to a group of "edgy" network executives, who are more than happy to document border happenings - but want to turn it into a competition.

"Why don't we have them 'compete' for citizenship?" one suggests. "People love competition - right? What do the numbers say?"

When production begins, Haskin begins to realize that there are more heartening things to strive for than commercial value and fame that our culture thrives on.

Jim Evans Great concept. It's certainly right for the times. And I agree it certainly has great comedic possibilities. I'd love to hear more.

Joseph Parsons Well, God forbid artistic and/or comedic expression of REALITY should be available to the public because a "certain group" may be "offended". Controversy is good. Political correctness has no place in the arts.

Brian Ngambi I'm guessing that some people might be offended by this type of picture.

Joseph Parsons I totally agree with cagwa. I truly believe human beings, just by nature, really love movies, books, etc that have some kind of a "moral" to the story, or lesson to be learned about the reckless way we treat ourselves and others. Great idea.
