Not only has it been said that Bruce is a pretty bad guardian angel but truth be told Bruce might be the worst guardian angel of all time. On a scale of 1 to 10 Bruce ranks about a negative 5.
G.Angel follows one stumbling, bumbling, fumbling gentle soul as he navigates through the after life as a guardian angel. While other Angel’s are off protecting their humans, figuring out how to fight evil and holding philosophical in depth conversations with other honorable Angels, Bruce is off reading comic books, listening to Metallica, eating food that would give humans instant heart attacks and trying to figure out how to just not be bothered.
Bruce’s first guardian job ended in disaster. He was assigned to a high level dignitary who was on track to stop hunger in his desert nation when the dignitary accidentally slipped down a flight of stairs and lost his ability to reason. At the time Bruce had been detained in an adjacent room consumed by a comic book.
Bruce than was reassigned to watch over a human named Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith was an average ordinary guy… that has one very bad day. When Bruce is not paying attention Mr. Smith falls out the window of his 5th story apartment. Bruce in a moment of comical disbelief saves Mr. Smith just before he meets his Maker, however, Mr. Smith is in a state of bliss suspended 7 feet above the ground. An even bigger dilemma now exists for Bruce - he can’t remember what was taught to him in his Angel training boot camp that would allow him to bring Mr. Smith down safely.
As the world comes to life the next morning, passersby are startled to see Mr. Smith, in front of his building, suspended upside down in mid air (without ropes).
A series of failed actions, coupled with frantic calls to the God-1-1 hotline, bring Sam, a skilled, knowledgeable guardian angel, to the scene of the bind and the action begins.
Saving Mr. Smith’s life was just the beginning of one crazy day on the job, for Bruce the G. Angel.

Ervin Anderson I don't know. I feel like the idea could be funny. I also feel like I've seen the whole "worst guardian angel ever" thing somewhere else. The script pages weren't all that funny. Maybe other parts of your script are funnier. I'm giving you 3 stars 'cause I do think the idea could be funny, if not super original. But good luck!

March 10, 2010I'm going to have to agree with Tony that the potential for the story is immense. There's a world of story to be told however, touching on what Michelle said, there doesn't seem to be an obstacle... maybe some event inspires him to get his act together and a following event puts his newfound skills to the test... Something like that could work (though a little cliche). Something that also came to mind after reading the provided excerpt from the script and it's of dialogue and monologue. I found the lines to be quite expository in that they tell the emotion of Bruce (or other characters) rather than striving to show them via the character's body language/expressions/etc. This leads to a bit of redundancy as well as some lines that convey the same thing (we get it, he and we know he's not a good guardian angel).
I gave it 4 stars because though the current development has some lack in its story and overall delivery, I know that you're smart enough and creative enough to work it out and make it a great picture. Good luck man.
Michelle Cutler Hey Tito - definitely a great title and a good concept. G.Angel might be a little more gangster though just because of that title. Problem for me right now is I can't tell from the synopsis where the action of the movie starts. Where does Bruce begin? It's his arc that isn't clear. I think this could be really funny once Bruce has a goal and a nemesis angel maybe who doesn't want him to succeed. Some kind of conflict for him.
March 10, 2010Good luck with it!
R.J. Samson So shines your fake reviews, in a fake review weary world. The idea is funny. The writing, structure, format are bad. Almost as bad as your fake reviews. A for effort. Seriously, a decent idea. Seriously, a bad idea to fake review it.
March 9, 2010Tito Hamze I shared it on facebook, and people left reviews, I'm not lying i have, no need to, thanks for your comment though bro
March 9, 2010Michelle Cutler I'm not sure what's up with the star-rating vigilantism. Why aren't people just reading the material and taking a moment to respond creatively?
March 10, 2010Tony Vercelli I find this idea to be a great one for a couple of reasons. For one, it presents the opportunity for really unique writing. A unique idea from the beginning, a writer can thrive off ideas such as this. It presents a chance for the writers to dig deep and come up with ideas not seen before, which is liberating for a writer. G. Angel's backbone would definitely be its writing. Also, G. Angel displays an image of the "guardian angel" that has not really been seen before. Comedy lies in the imperfections of humans. To see the imperfections of something viewed as "perfect," there is no doubt that there will be a lot of comedy in G. Angel. It is a great concept and has a grand amount of potential.
March 9, 2010Jessica Scott The concept seems like it could be a funny movie for the whole family. A modern and humorous look at the age-old concept of a guardian angel leaves many hilarious possibilities. At a time when 3-D movies, fantastical animation, and action-filled special effects have been cluttering the theaters, a good comedy with a solid storyline that appeals to all ages is refreshing. This movie has the potential to exhibit the most important pieces of film-making -- good writing, good acting, and good directing, all of which can sometimes get lost with the new trends of mere visual stimulation. I hope I get to see all that G. Angel has to offer!

Drake Schullerts This movie sounds like it could become a good comedy. I would like to know the back story to Bruce becoming a guardian angel and what led him to become such a bad guardian. The concept is original and I think that the irony of a bad guardian angel would make for a funny story.
March 5, 2010Nick Mahar I think this has the potential to be original and funny. We always see Angels perceived as well, Angels, and this is the complete opposite. The explanation makes me want to know what happens to the Bruce, does he get canned or what?
