Margarita
Margarita that tells the story of a young girl who turns the hospital where her grandfather is dying into a play space.
The short film, Margarita, tells the story of a young girl passing an afternoon in the hospital where her grandfather is dying. The title character, Margarita, turns the hospital into a play space - exploring and energizing the hospital environment. She wanders the halls, fills latex gloves with water and observes the hospital at work. The film is about a child's sensibility and humor surrounding death. It uses juxtaposition - youth with old age, play with work, death with life to create both humor and meaning.

May 21, 2009Maria Werner-Wasik I like watching films told from the point of view of a child; they frequently tell the true story, not embellished, uncensored. I would love to see Maris succeed in making Margarita.
May 21, 2009Christine Filippone A creative approach to complex human emotions. Would love to see this happen.
May 21, 2009Adriano Bravo This project has great potential for creativity in visual storytelling. Can't wait to see it. Good luck.
May 20, 2009Shanna Linn The power in this lies in its ability to create that gnawing feeling in our gut that we get when conjuring "hospital" with "grandparent," and then to transform that sensation by entering the child's world that bypasses despair and alters even this place into a play space. My knees are buckling a little, but I'm intrigued.

May 20, 2009lubaboop good luck Maris! I like your story...
May 19, 2009Mae Wolfe Self-contained and dreamy. Takes a traditionally Ideal view of the child. Hard for me to imagine without the soundtrack. Ambient sound? Music? If music, what kind? The soundtrack will be key in establishing the tenor of a film that, at times, skirts the borders of sentimentality. I think contrast might lend vibrancy.
May 19, 2009Laura Hricko This sounds like it will be a beautiful film, both visually and psychologically. Can't wait to see it come to life!
May 19, 2009Jared Martin I would like to see this done, I'm interested both in the film and the filmmaker, the presentation was succinct and exciting.
