  2. Todays Special

Connie & Marlene are the top-selling hosts at HSE, When a powerful rival network appears, the women are faced with an ultimatum - co-host or lose their jobs.

Smut Peddler is a smart but raunchy comedy following Calvin, an aspiring novelist who has been living in NYC since turning his back on his dysfunctional family 10 years ago. His dream of becoming a famous and important author has not panned out so he has been living off the emotional and economic support of Katy, his live-in girlfriend. Calvin is surprised to find that he has inherited his recently deceased father’s small B movie production studio in LA, a town he hates. Sensing an opportunity to make some money, he heads to LA to sell the company. Once there, Calvin is even more surprised to discover that his father was in the business of making pornography. His plans to sell the company and return to Katy with some money in his pockets are squashed however when it becomes apparent that the buyer is none other than his vindictive brother Charles who plans on firing all the employees and licensing the back catalogue of movies. Adding to his change of heart is meeting Sara. She is beautiful, smart, funny and is studying literature at UCLA. There are only two problems: Calvin has a girlfriend and Sara is a porn-star.

Smut Peddler follows Calvin’s attempts to keep the Dream Machine Studios operating in the hope that he will soon be able to step away from the company and return to his life in New York with the woman he is pretty sure he loves. This will be a nearly impossible task however since he is taking over for his father, who handled the nearly constant state of crisis with a sense of purpose and commitment, two traits Calvin is in very limited supply of. Add to this his brother Charles nearly constant attempts of sabotage and his growing feelings for Sara, Calvin needs to dig deep to find the traits he inherited from the father he turned his back on so many years ago.

Bryan Wolford I see some potential for this but maybe not for this specific contest. Is this a movie I would go see? Definitely. I think if you do a good job of casting and find the right director this could be a good indie movie.

And on a personal note don't let these other 2 reviews hurt you. The more I look around the more I see that they like to try and sink anyone and everyone (myself included). So keep your chin up.

Bryan Wolford i'm not talking behind anyone's back. on my pitch you said you would have rated mine higher if I didn't have so many friends that had given it a 5. We've discussed this on my page and I don't wish to clutter Mike's page here so this is the only response I will make but that is the defintion of trying to sink someone's pitch. You've explained your motivations and I understand them. It's just seems to happen a lot.
