  1. Revenge of the Jocks

3 over the hill jocks try to relive their glory days by saving their beloved high school athletic department from being shut down by a nerd they used to bully.

We open at “Ben's Luge Memorabilia Shop” where Ben and his sweet and pretty employee Sam are closing up shop - for good. This was the latest in a long series of failed businesses. Ben's father always told him that to make it as a business owner you've got to give the people what they want. Unfortunately, all Ben's business ideas flop before they get off the ground and he must lay Sam off again. She tells him not to worry about that now - he's getting married and tonight his best pals are throwing him a bachelor party.

At the party, there's sexy girls, loud music and brewskies. Ben's happy to be with his pals Steve and Will but he's clearly not into the debauchery - his fiancée Nicole is the only woman for him. His best man Steve is going out of his mind with all the rampant T & A, having had no sex with his wife in months. Will is a party guy, but he's not hitting on the girls - too young for his cougary tastes. Instead, he's work-shopping their dance moves, as he's an aspiring lyrical dancer -a unlikely dream for someone of his frame.

Will and Steve try to encourage Ben to get at least one lap dance but he's not into it. Ben takes off early to be with Nicole on their last night before the big day. Ben gets home before Nicole, prepares a romantic homecoming for her and waits...and waits...

She finally stumbles in the next morning, drunk and sloppy. He laughs it off and puts her to bed. He looks lovingly at her as she pukes into a trash can he put beside the bed for her. She's his angel.

Wedding Day...Everyone's gathered in an old fashioned firehouse Will inherited from his firefighter dad that's been decorated for the event. Steve and Will stand at Ben's side at the makeshift altar - everyone's waiting for the bride to make her way down the aisle - but she never does.

Nicole reappears after everyone has gone and explains she can't end up with a guy who never finishes anything he starts: Paint-Ball Roller Rinks, Limp Bizkit tribute bands... Her father thinks he's a loser and she can't prove him wrong.

Ben learns that Nicole is now seeing a man named Lorenzo, a champion male pole dancer who has parlayed his success into becoming the owner of the male-strip joint "Banana Hammocks" - a place Sam tells Ben is only the 'male interpretation' of what women actually fantasize about. A light bulb goes on in Ben's head. He can prove to Nicole that he doesn't need her money and fulfill his dream of becoming a successful business owner at the same time: by renovating the firehouse into his own male strip club called Studmuffins!

With the help of the loyal Sam, Ben gears the place to appeal to what women really want. Will takes the lead on finding the dancers, but it's slim pickin's, so Steve and Ben will have to dance too. Steve tries to help get Ben a bank loan but is turned down. Sensing a franchising opportunity for Banana Hammocks, Lorenzo agrees to loan Ben the money on the condition that Ben pays back the loan in one month or he loses the club.

With Sam lending the boys a female perspective, Studmuffins' unconventional atmosphere and everyman dancers soon become the hottest ticket in town.

Feeling threatened, Lorenzo exploits a legal loophole in Ben's contract and attempts to take ownership of the club. Ben challenges Lorenzo to a strip-off at the Annual Stripper Competition in Vegas.

The competition is truly a spectacular gathering of dancers and strippers from all walks of life and eventually it comes down to the final two: Studmuffins vs Banana Hammocks. The competition is fierce and Lorenzo tries some dirty tricks, but the Studs reach deep down leaving it all on stage, and when it looks like they might be beaten, Will pulls out the “Pole Enchilada” the most dangerous stripper move ever documented. He nails it! The Studs win!

Nicole approaches Ben to get him back but Ben has seen the light and chooses to be with Sam, his new partner in more ways than one.

Steven Kahler Since you asked me to review this when you posted your response to my review of your other script sample I thought "what the hell," at least your response showed more maturity than most. :)

You seem to have a good handle on the mechanics of writing a screenplay with this writing sample, serious.

So my question becomes why don't you up the ante on yourself and write something that is a little more intelligent? By that I mean why not show us that you have something to contribute to the art and craft of CINEMA?

Why not explore some of the deeper meanings in life? Why not write a screenplay that has a well crafted character who has a mature problem to solve so that we can all see how to live a better life? Is it to much to ask from someone with your talent? No, I don't think it is.

Cinema deserves no less than the best we can offer it. Are you up to the challenge?
