Jackson Southern Love the pitch vid and would perhaps reflect your shooting style, but yeah, I agree it's overly ambitious, plus zombies will be the next overdone monster once we're all had enough of vampires. The beautiful zombie teacher struck me as quite the unusual visual so if you're able to make it, just be sure to make the zombies really look right the makeup and effects. Good luck!

Markus Kirschner Kai -- I found this very entertaining. I'm not sure I fully comprehend all of the narrative nuances, as I'm not versed (at all) in zombie movies. That said, I still got the gist of the story from the script. I agree with Robin that the plot with the baby got muddled and it would be better if you could focus the narrative between Ms. Gardener, Lena and Alex. Or get rid of Alex and focus it on Ms. Gardner, Lena and the baby. I didn't really understand how remembering "Lisa" is a test; I figured that was some Zombie thing I don't know about. I like the idea, but there is an awful lot of prod value here for a short - axes in bodies, blood, a fetus, a pantry of zombies, a body on fire... I like it, but that's a lot of money for 5 minutes. Nice work!

robin wilby I think this is a hysterical story idea -- children who kill zombies with the help of a nice teacher zombie -- and really unique and unexpected for the guidelines of a film that takes place in a hotel. When I read the line, "A flu. A flu that makes you wanna eat people." I laughed out loud. There's a lot going on for a five minute short -- the complex relationships between Lena, Ms. Gardner, Alex, and the baby, which gets a little complicated -- Alex wants to kill Ms. Gardner + the baby so Lena helps Ms. Gardner kill Alex, then Ms. Gardner wants to eat the baby + forgets Lena's name, so Ms. Gardner kills herself.) I would really try to focus and simplify. Perhaps taking something out would strengthen the story. Some suggestions (not sure if they're useful) would be: Alex only tries to kill Ms. Gardner or the baby (instead of both); Ms. Gardner only wants to eat Alex or the baby or forgets Lena's name (instead of all three). Good luck. Would love to see this film!

Daviel Shy Creative and touching story. You manage to create really full characters in such a short film. Well done!

Killer Production Team David Kaplan Would be tough to pull off on a budget but a very well conceived short. "Half A Stop" was one of my favorites from the last contest. Despite the logistical challenges posed by the scope of the story, this one is just as strong.

Mae Wolfe You achieve so much in such a short space--real characters, kids at that!, original dialogue, and honest ironic post-apocalyptic humor. Not to mention the fact that adulthood itself can at times feel like the slow slog of zombie-hood. The hotel would provide a beautiful sheltered setting for this short. I really enjoyed your take on this material.

Hannah Claire I love it! It seems magical and realistic in a strange and beautiful way. A story about childhood (not just for children). I can't wait!

Hannah Claire by the way, the script is fucking funny

Amber Hall WOW. I'm dying to hear more of the story! As a both teacher and a zombie, I'm quite hooked. Ok, so I'm actually just a teacher, but the screenplay had me laughing hysterically. Brilliant!

Brian Donahue good pitch, nice script but not original. have you ever seen the zombie movie fido, a boy gets emotionally attached to a zombie. in there post apocayptic world they use zombies as pets and workers. good try though

Kai Beverly-Whittemore I am familiar with Fido- an amusing and funny film indeed! I guess I'm thinking of this more as Lena's story rather than a zombie film. Being a kid in an adult world is strange and wonderful regardless of a zombie-like virus or not :) Thanks for the feedback!

Brian Donahue i didnt think of it that way, but now i really see where you want it to go. thanks!
