Gary is a suburban ‘House Dad’. His wife Rachel is a top marketing exec. Gary tends to their two kids (Seth, 13 and Jessie, 10). Gary is a ‘king’ coupon clipper. He has pulled off a ‘coupon coup’-a free deluxe family vacation in the Bahamas. It requires that both he and his wife attend a time share pitch. When Gary’s wife can’t go because of a work overload, Gary finds an ‘alternate’- his slacker neighbor, Clark who agrees to pose as his wife.
The two of them present this to Seth, a 13-year old ‘wheeler-dealer’ and Jessie, an adorable 10-year old. They’ll go along with the scheme, but Dad will have to pay up ‘big time’ when they get back.
They arrive in the Bahamas to a jaw dropping resort. The kids surprisingly bond with their new Mom. Gary bonds with Clark. They all have a blast until...John, the husband of Rachel’s best friend Susan, suddenly shows up. John is an unhappy threat to the family. They cleverly spook him with a crazy plot that involves murder. As a CIA agent he can’t be anywhere near trouble, so he flees. But, John melodramatically returns covered with sandy seaweed and soaked in guilt at the timeshare presentation, ranting that there’s been a murder and pleading for forgiveness. Gary and Clark are exposed as frauds must pay back every penny.
All have embraced the joy of family. Rachel greets them at the airport with a vow to put family first. Gary and Clark take action for personal fulfillment. The kids present their Santa’s list to Dad- blank except for ‘We Love You Dad’ and a vacation picture of the family with Clark dressed as their Mom. Gary gives the card to Clark. Besides, Rachel can’t see the picture without a complicated explanation!

Mark Moen This sounds like it could be a sweet family film. I'm not sure that's what they are looking for in this competition, but that doesn't mean you can't shop it around to producers who are looking for that type of material. I can relate to the title, I have called my wife the Coupon Queen for years. She's addicted to them. Best of luck with your script.
