HandsomeDrew I see a clear storyline. I's a subtle thematic journey, and it works. Stories don't have to have a perfect linear arc with plot points. Hell if you animated the storyboards the animation alone would hold up as a decent video. Good stuff, you are tough competition.

James Mathews Your pitch really pulled us in. Great storyboards, riveting pitch video, and we loved the original idea. Very nice. Good luck!

Christian Badami One of my faves. On first viewing it was necessary to set aside the element of competition, because I could not deny the feeling that I was witnessing something cool - which by the end connected with me and moved me. While I wasn't sure how fleshed-out the final visuals are meant to be, I wouldn't mind if you intend them to look exactly like the storyboard panels - sort of a roto-scoped black & white animation, because it's very intriguing in that form. There is true passion and excitement here and that is something to be appreciated. Congrats on great work and best of luck.

Griff Just to clarify, obviously the submitter is using the band in the video. But in terms of the review process, I just meant to put out an open-ended question. I suspect the 5 pitch finalists will comprise a spectrum of band-heavy screen time, light band visuals, or no band presence at all.

Griff This is a good effort. The storyboards look professional, if a bit mechanized/derivative. The concept is dreamlike, and very abstract - which can be both a strength and a weakness. The visuals are strongly presented. Clearly this is a product of someone with experience in the industry.

Admittedly, I only watched 90 seconds of pitch video. Although the submitter is impressive, with an impressive resume and collaboraters, I honestly got tired of hearing too much about him in particular. While that is important, to me, it's really all about the pitch itself.

A very interesting issue for me, is whether or not the band will appear in the video, and if so, to what extent.

Best of luck, and again, I really appreciate the expertise and professionalism of the effort.

Kalki Your storyboards are stunning! They convey a definite mood. The story itself seems to be loaded with SFX. I'm wondering if anyone read the small print, that mentioned, "no special effects" as part of the competitions rules. Other than my point about the special effects, your "story" also needs more of an arc.

Max Gonzalez lol funny treatment!! are you writing a poem or a movie? where is the action? and by action I don't mean guns and car chases, I mean the literal action in front of the camera.
