A twisted tale of CONSCIENCE, RETRIBUTION & LOVE in a young woman’s struggle for survival .
BRIEF SYNOPSIS:
While an intractable war rumbles on, two women from different worlds stand on opposite sides to question the strangely similar patterns followed by good and evil in the world. For 20-something Dana Lewis the lines between what is right and what needs to be done are blurred after spending half of her childhood running from the high-powered men that surround her mother's mysterious death. On the other side is Anoush, aka Leyla, orphaned at eight after her parents were gunned down, having overcome horrific odds; she is clear in her choice. When Dana is used as bait and tortured on LIVE television by terrorists demanding primitive justice, it is revealed that she has a secret that will destroy America's trust in government. None of the terrorists or hostages are what they seem - each hold dark and horrifying secrets which are slowly revealed until the truth explodes.
PLOT SUMMARY:
In a villa outside Baghdad, 8-year-old ANOUSH watches as her wealthy parents are executed. In the American capital, young MOLLY, a stripper’s daughter, hears gunshots and learns of her mother’s death.
Fast forward - present day Los Angeles. While an illegitimate war rumbles on, Anoush, now known as LEYLA works at a bar where Molly, now 20-something DANA LEWIS, homeless and without a job, meets struggling musician Irish expat CHARLIE WALSH. The two share digs, fall in love. Television mogul, Irish expat RUSSELL MCGOWAN gets an ominous phone call from TERRORISTS who want to send a message to the U.S. government through his TV show. Russell, once an active IRA member owes his life to DOC ROGERS, ex-CIA, to whom he sends an SOS, only to be drawn into a high-stakes cat and mouse game on LIVE television where he will be used as live bait by the CIA, in a plan to take down three terrorists.
Dana is taken hostage by terrorists seeking primitive justice in a plot to destroy America's trust in government, and baited into revealing her mother’s access to classified government war documents concerning WMDs. Having lived half her young life running from the powerful men pursuing her, when the lines between what is right and what needs to be done, have become irreversibly blurred , as she is lured towards man’s primal instinct of survival rather than choosing between right and wrong, she finally begins to see things clearly.
